WHEN I FIRST MET MY dear wife, she tasted my cooking and liked it, she was impressed. She asked me where I learned how to cook. I told her that I would not tell her, but I did tell her that while growing up, I lived with my Bubby for about five years. The first time I met her parents for Shabbos, I came over with homemade cinnamon raisin challah and lemon meringue pie. I won my future wife’s parent’s hearts with the challah and pie. When they got older, I used to cook all their meals for them, and they loved my cooking and baking to such an extent that my mother-in-law said that my cooking was on par with hers. That is debatable, but nevertheless, I humbly accepted the compliment. Over the years, people have often asked me for recipes for the food that I have served in my home, and I have always accommodated them. Eventually, some friends even told me to publish a cookbook with my recipes and here we are. When I finished compiling and typing my recipes, I realized I had about 480 recipes and was unsure how I should publish them. 480 recipes are too many for one book, so I decided to divide them into two volumes. However, I also wanted to have them all in one volume, so I decided to publish them in one volume. I know that is confusing, so let me explain. What I did was put all the recipes in one large looseleaf binder where each page is in a separate sheet protector. I also divided the cookbook into two volumes where I hope the division is logical and makes sense to you, my dear reader, and it is helpful. I know many options are available to you for recipe books and I appreciate that you bought mine. I am sure you will not be disappointed with what you will find on these pages. With the help of my wonderful and supportive crew, I put together a book series for your enjoyment. The series consists of this book, a Kitchen Manual, as well as another book 280+ Pesach Recipes. This recipe book is part of a series to make your kitchen life easier so that you will be able to do more Mitzvos with your extra time. In the Kitchen Manual, you will find all the hints and tips you will need to run a smooth kitchen. You will also find a list of kitchen tools and accessories to make your experience in the kitchen much more enjoyable and productive. The following charts will delineate what is in each volume. As best as possible, in the first volume I put recipes having to do with main courses and the second volume is more focused on desserts. However, there is some overlap so that both volumes contain close to the same number of recipes. In each book, there are references to recipes contained in the other. I highly recommend you purchase both volumes as they are part of the same work. If you purchased the looseleaf version of the book, all the recipes will be found in the same volume shown in the second chart.
